The session stays open after robot finishes processing and the UiPath Robot can't run a new job.
Issue Description:
This behavior affects UiPath Robot versions lower than 23.4.8.
Starting with version 23.4.8, a fix was deployed that automatically terminates the session if the job execution is completed.
Resolution:
To fix this behavior, upgrade UiPath Robot to the latest version available or, at least, to version 23.4.8.
If upgrading is not an immediately viable option, apply the below workaround.
Note: Admin privileges may be required to apply the changes.
- Open the ‘Group Policy Editor‘ on the Robot's computer.
- Navigate to: Local Computer Policy / Computer Configuration / Administrative Templates / Windows Components / Remote Desktop Services / Remote Desktop Session Host / Session Time Limits
- Find the key ‘Set time limit for disconnected sessions‘.
- By default it will have the value ‘Not configured’, change it to ‘Enabled‘.
- Once the setting is set to ‘Enabled’, another field will become available in the lower left half of the window. Set ‘End a disconnected session‘ to the value you prefer.
Note: Setting the ‘End a disconnected session’ time value too low may cause your work to be lost if your network connection drops, so it is not recommended to set this value to lower than 15 minutes.
