Special Characters Not Recognized When Task Mining Is Running

On French keyboards (AZERTY, not QUERTY), key combination is used to type ê (a combination of the ^ and e keys). When the Task Mining application is running, it becomes impossible to use this key combination. Windows interprets the key combination as incomplete and types ^^e instead.

Root Cause: The issue has been caused by the way how the keyboard driver interprets special characters with different language layouts

Resolution: There are issues recognizing specific characters being typed. For instance: ê is a combination of the ^ and e keys - when Task Mining is running, the recorder interprets them as ^^e.

  • Update to the most recent Task Mining Version (this issue has been resolved in the latest releases of Task Mining and Assisted Task Mining).
