Hi Guys!!! I am starting level2 Orchestrator training and facing the very common issue “Robot Unavailable” and when hover aroung the message, it says Robot doesnt exist.
I logged in UiPath Orchestrator using the gmail account. i go to “services” on the left
IBMDefault is created automatically when i log in. next i clicked on IBMDefault and it takes me to another screen where i find Robot, i create a new Robot with following details -
i took the Domain\username from cmd-whoami and in password i give the my windows password. (Although i am using a PIN to log in to my windows now a days but i am mentioning my windows password here)
Hi buddy @Devjyoti_Bhattachary
You were almost in the very beginning…
Just need to change only, no other changes
Yes, the Machine Name
The machine in your orchestrator should be same as your machine
In your machine it is CHITRA, and in your orchestrator it is WTFROBOT IT SHOULD BE SAME
–So create a new machine named CHITRA
–Use that machine name in the robot tab in orchestrator by just editing the already created robot by clicking on the three dots or lines in the right end of each Robot name and change the machine and update it…
Everything else was right that you had in your question…but make sure that u have mentioned im Domain/Username as what you obtained from whoami
Change the url to platform buddy
I said everything else were correct
But still there is machine name next to robot in the robot tab see buddy, its not yet attached to the robot…
Kindly add tag that machine to the robot… @Devjyoti_Bhattachary

Aaah are you creating a floating robot or a standard robot, if its a floating robot, no need to mention the machine name, but if you are trying to use a standard machine we need to mention the machine name…
We get this option to create between these two types when the plus symbol is pressed on creating a new robot
Make your choice based on the need…if you dont wat machine you are going to execute the process, use FLOATING robots, but I would suggest here you know the machine of what to use, so create a standard machine, mention the machine name and all the needed details and try to connect buddy
You were almost done
Cheers @Devjyoti_Bhattachary
Thanks Buddy…Thanks a Zillion…I am able to connect now after changing to Standard Robot.
However I still dont understand the concept/difference between Standard Robot and Floating one…but happy to get the issue resolved…will try hands on Floating Robot later sometime…Thanks for your time and advice.
cheers!!!
Hi again,
After the successful connection of standard Robot i am trying to create a floating robot.I created a machine template, i created a floating robot, and in UiPath Robot orchestrator setting i passed the machine key of the machine template …but it didnt work. ‘robot unavailable’.
as per my understanding, we pair standard robot with standard machine and floating robot with machine template…is that correct?
–First create the machine
–Then robot
–And then make sure that machine (your system ) is not connected to any other robots, even standard robot as one robot can be connected to only one machine
–If connected disconnect it and remove that standard machine and try using this floating machine alone amd connect ( the reason is as you have only one machine now we have to delete thay standard machine, connect the floating machine)
