Include Machine/VDI in start job api call in Orchestrator 2020.10.10

Hi Team,

I am using latest orchestrator 2020.10.10, in that I am trying to make start job api call, I am passing the robot id in the call, but it is been taken as a particular user. PFB the code:
{
“startInfo”: {
“ReleaseKey”: “acb123-abc123-abc123-abc123”,
“RobotIds”: [20],
“JobsCount”: 1,
“JobPriority”: “Normal”,
“Strategy”: “ModernJobsCount”,
“RuntimeType”: “Unattended”,
“InputArguments”: “{}”
}
}

I want to select a particular machine to start the run, so someone please tell me on how to get the machine ID and how to include the retrieved machine ID in start job api call?

Kindly respond at the earliest possible, Thanks All!

Hi @663959

The quickest way would probably be to check how the browser makes the same API call when you start the job manually. You can achieve that by:

  • opening the browser console on the Network tab and filtering the XHR requests
  • starting the job in Orchestrator
  • observing the different API calls, finding the one that started the job and then checking its payload
