how to run a process on floating robot from one pc to another?

HI @Fahad_Masood

  • Floating Robot - works on any machine defined in Orchestrator, be it Standard or Template, as the machine name is not relevant when creating it. Only Attended and Development Robots can be floating, and as such, they become licensed automatically when you open the Robot tray. These types of Robots only work with Active Directory users and are useful if the machine you want to add a Robot to has a different name each time it is spawned, such as for Non-Persistent VDIs. Same goes for hotseat environments, where different people are working in shifts on the same computer.

Have a look on the video link

Hey @Fahad_Masood

  1. Add a machine template

  2. Add robot users one or more than one

  3. Connect all the above robot users machines to Orchestrator using the machine key created from Step1

  4. That’s it, run the process now from any of the connected bots

Hope this helps

Thanks

Hey @Fahad_Masood

You may not have assigned it to the folder.

Could you please show the screenshot of the Start Job page before click start button ?

Thanks

dear nitin,
my process is running on both machine but i have to disconnect one machine for the other to run then my pc1 one doesn’t run why is this happening why i can’t run it a the same time.

Hi @Fahad_Masood,

That is because when you have a floating robot it does not increase your available robot licenses. If only one license is available to the machine template then only one robot can run at a time. In addition, if you are using modern folders and you want to concurrently use two licenses, your robot accounts cannot be the same. Each license will have to be run on a dedicated robot user.

Hey @Fahad_Masood

If you have only one license you can only run one bot at once.

You need to have sufficient license for the same.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Dear jeevith,
It means i need to make another account in order to run the process at the same time cause the account is different now is that what you’re trying to say.

In modern folders yes. Running robots in both the machines will need

  1. A dedicated user for each robot who can log into your runtime machine
  2. Individual unattended license / studio license (2 licenses allocated to the machine template)
