How to get the Community licensing

Hi all,

I’m a newbie in terms of using UiPath Studio so I wanted to give it a try.
I’ve created an account using my personal e-mail and then downloaded several verisions of Studio. Eventually I got my pointer on an installer that’s named UiPathStudioCommunity.

Based on my readings I take it that community licensing gives you full access to what UiPath Studiox offers but it’s free. I couldn’t figure it out how to obtain such a type of license. Upon installing Stuidox and logging into it using the cloud account, it gives me access to only a fraction of all the activities.

I then created another account using my company’s e-mail and accessed the 60 days trial license which gave me access to everything but…that’s only for 60 days.

Can one get full access to Studio without actually paying for the license? If yes, any links or guidance would help.

I know there’s a similar post opened in 2018 but the link in there is not working (topic: Am not able to download uipath community edition)

Thank you!

if you downloaded the UiPathStudioCommunity, you need to start this file and will open if some choices, one of these choices is wich version of studio you want use, you need put the community version and select the studiox

Hi @mariusmmu

Go to the UiPath website at https://www.uipath.com/.Look for the “Community Edition” link on the UiPath website. You can usually find it in the header or footer of the page. Click on the link to go to the Community Edition page.On the Community Edition page, you’ll find a button to either sign up or log in. If you already have an account, you can log in using your personal email address. If not, click on the sign-up button and follow the instructions to create a new account.

Once you have signed up or logged in, you should be able to download UiPath Studio Community Edition. Look for the download link or button on the Community Edition page and follow the instructions to download and install the software.

After installing UiPath Studio Community Edition, you should have access to a wide range of activities and features that are available in the community version. You can use it for personal and non-commercial purposes without any licensing fees.

Thanks!

@mariusmmu

  1. Check if your plan is community…go to admin → licenses and check from there
  2. Download the community studio from
    The downloads on the orchestrator
  3. Create a robot and machine and assign attended user…automation developer licenses to the robot or user
  4. Open UiPath assistant and use interactive signin and use the same user provided with automation dveeloper license to login
  5. If you see studiox then go to home → settings → license and profilies → change profile → studio

Hope this helps

Cheers

Thanks Nitya for looking into my problem.
I did manage to download the community installer and run it but the problem is that when opening the tool, I get a very limited number of activities available in the menu.
For example I want to try to read from a pdf file so I need the “Match” activity which is not there:

So is Community licensing really having ALL the features or just a very limited number of activities?

Thanks!

Hi Anil,

Thanks for you reply - I did download the community installer but lacking lots of activities that I see being used over the web.
So yes, licensing could be my issue. In my cloud account I see:

How do I know if my account is “community” eligible or not?

I tried checking the licensing plan in StudioX but…that doesn’t make much sense:

Thank you again for your assistance.

@mariusmmu

You plan is free plan as per screenshot…it says free…if it is community license then you would see community tgere

Create a new community user account using a different id then you can use studio instead of studiox…

Free license gives access only to studiox

And there is not option to convert free license to community

Cheers

MANY thanks Anil.

Indeed all my problems were coming from the fact that when I initially crated my account I didn’t read that tiny text asking if I want to create a community account.
From there…just a snowball effect

Thanks again - will be deactivating this e-mail account to use the other where my community user is setup.
