High Density - Remote Desktop Services (RDS) CALs - Per User or Per Device?

Hi,

We have a standalone server running >20 robots using the High Density Setup. The orchestrator and the robots are on the same machine. At the moment, the setup works as it is within the grace period of 120 days.

Which Remote desktop CALs should be purchased? Per Device or Per User? And how many (Say, for 20 robots).

I assume you must have long since deployed this, did you choose Per User or Per Device in the end?

By my logic, I am guessing that only a per-user CAL model makes sense, as each remote unattended user account can be licensed. If using per-device CAL’s I don’t see that you have any remote devices to actually license.

Anyone else have experience with this?
