Error 1232 – UiPath Assistant cannot find the configured Unattended Robot

I’m trying to configure an Unattended Robot on my local machine via UiPath Assistant, but I keep getting the following error:
Error 1232“Could not find the Unattended Robot for the user key…”

Technical details:

  • Robot name: RobotDremanNuevo
  • Machine name: DESKTOP-42DECS2
  • Windows username: DESKTOP-42DECS2\gpineiro
  • Connection type in Assistant: Machine Key / Client ID
  • License status: 1 Unattended license active and assigned via template MaquinaDreman
  • Assistant status: “Connected but unable to retrieve a license”

What I’ve already configured:

  • Machine template created and assigned
  • Unattended Robot account created with credentials and role Allow to be Automation User
  • Robot assigned to the correct folder
  • License is active and not in use

I’ve double-checked all the steps, but the robot still cannot get the license and Assistant keeps throwing the same error.

Could you please help verify if there’s an internal misconfiguration or missing binding between the robot, the user, and the machine?

Also can be the reason. It’s your machine and you are logged in as a user so license should be attended one not unattended.

For unattended license the role needs to be robot and not automation user
