Do we need to enble chrome extension in remote studio server

Hi Guys!!

Do we need to enable chrome extension in the UiPath studio in RDP server? I have my process in the cloud orchestrator of rdp server & I will not use studio in the server. but still do we need to enable chrome extension in studio or it will work.

Please clarify me guys!!

I think ,If you use Chrome you need extension in chrome

Hi @mohamedalthaf

When you run a process from the cloud orchestrator, the process will execute on the RDP server where the UiPath Robot is installed. The UiPath Robot will interact with the browser on the server where the process is running and the UiPath Chrome extension installed on that browser will be used for automation. So you need to install the UiPath extension on the browser.

Yes @mohamedalthaf You need to enable the chrome extension even in rdp server.

@mohamedalthaf Yes. Chrome needs UiPath Extension where it will run. because when you will run from orchestrator it will place package in that RDP Machine to run it. To run smoothly you need extension.

Anywhere where you want to interact with chrome using robot or studio you need to install the respective extension

So extension enabled in chrome is as good as installing extension from Studio Extensions menu

Thanks. I have enabled the UiPath extension in chrome browser of rdp server. but my doubt is, In UiPath studio tools option we will have chrome extension right? Do i need to enable the extension in the studio also or the extension enabled in the chrome is enough?

Basically whatever you see in studio is the same extension which will be enabled in chrome

Process will not use studio during running.Thanks

You don’t have to install the extension from studio end, if it’s already there on the browser. Even if you try to use studio in such case, UiPath will auto detect the installed extension on chrome.
