Callouts Activities - Now in Public Preview!

We are excited to add Callouts to the preview and would like to thank you in advance for your participation and feedback. This initial set of activities allow you to easily create callouts to enable key scenarios around attended automation workflows.

Below you’ll find instructions to get started & details on how to submit feedback, issues, and questions directly to the Product Engineering team.

How to install

You will need to install the following activities.

UiPath.Form.Activities package is available in the UiPath BETA feed. Please follow the steps below to install the package in UiPath Studio:

  • If you have not already added the UiPath Beta feed to your Studio Manage Package window, please do so by following instructions at the previous link.
  • In the Beta feed, check ‘Include Prerelease’, search for “UiPath.Form.Activities”, and install the latest BETA version.
    ** Important - Please make sure you check the ‘Include Prerelease’ checkbox

UiPath.UIAutomation.Activities package is available in the UiPath Beta feed. Please follow the steps below to install the package in UiPath Studio:

  • If you have not already added the UiPath Beta feed to your Studio Manage Package window, please do so by following instructions at the previous link.
  • In the Beta feed, check ‘Include Prerelease’, search for “UiPath.UIAutomation.Activities”, and install the latest BETA version.
    ** Important - Please make sure you check the ‘Include Prerelease’ checkbox

The Callout Activities should be visible now in UiPath Studio as shown below:

Activities List

  • Callout – Allows RPA developers to create callouts in workflows that can present the contextual information and instructions to end users by utilizing WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) interface design.
  • Callout Designer – Creates and customizes the callout look and feel in the Callout activity.
  • Tooltip – The previous Callout activity has been renamed to “Tooltip” for legacy Callout implementations.

How to use

Creating callout using the new Callout activities in Studio.

  1. In Activities, expand SYSTEM, then DIALOG and CALLOUT
  2. Select and drag CALLOUT activity into your workflow.

  3. Click INDICATE ON SCREEN to define the UI element that your callout will point to.
  4. Click DESIGN CALLOUT

  5. In the Callout Designer, browse for and drag components onto your canvas.
    a. Each component will require configuration for your workflow, including Display:

    b. Data Binding configuration (bind field to a callout variable):

    c. Repeat this for each field required in your callout.
    d. Apply Callout Themes:

    e. Save your callout, and integrate the callout variables into your workflow.

Just test activities and Callout is a lot better than Tooltip :))


I have added beta feed and still can’t install CallOut Designer activity. Neither UiPath.Form.Activities nor UiPath.UIAutomation.Activities package is available/update-able and i’m sure i checked “include prerelease” checkbox. Any help please?
