Workflow Opening in Read-Only Mode

A workflow inside my project is now opening in read-only mode when I go to open it and continue development. I was able to edit this workflow yesterday and did not knowingly make any changes that would cause this to happen. Does anybody have a solution for this issue?

Thanks

Close Studio. Make sure nobody else has the project open. Right-click the file in Windows Explorer, select properties, and make sure it’s not read only.

Thanks for the response. I closed Studio and ensured the project was not open elsewhere, additionally the .xaml files do not show as being “Read-Only”. Do you have any other suggestions?

hi @jpreziuso

Could you please follow the steps mentioned in below post, should help.

@jpreziuso

a basic resolution step would be to restart the system and try

cheers

I ended all background UiPath processes as well as restarted my machine and I am now able to open and edit the workflow.

Thanks

Hi @jpreziuso

Happy to know following the mentioned steps resolved your issue :slight_smile:

If it happens again I would suggest right-clicking the UiPath Assistant icon in your task tray, and clicking Quit. I’ve found that when you run an automation in Studio, Assistant is somehow tied into that and will grab hold of files and not let go. Often I cannot delete a project folder until I’ve quit Assistant.
