UiPath Screen OCR requires API key or not?

Hello,

I am using the “Get OCR Text” activity with the “UiPath Screen Ocr” in UiPath

When running it with debug file, it works most of the time, but sometimes it returns an error that there is no API key see image attached
no api error

Where can I get an API key for this to work?

And is there another OCR activity that I can use which is free and doesn’t require an API key?

Hello @benben,

You can get the API from orchestrator. Follow the below steps to retrieve the API key.

  1. Open Automation Cloud (cloud.uipath.com)
  2. Click Admin → Licenses → Robot & Services
  3. Under Computer Vision, you can find the API key if not click generate API, copy and paste it in the API field in UiPath Screen OCR activity.
