Robot Fails With Error "The Smart Card Resource Manager Is Not Running"

Robot will fail if the job is triggered from Orchestrator. However, manually running the job on the Robot computer will succeed.

How to check if the smart card reader is working?

  1. Navigate to Computer
  2. Right-click Computer, and then select Properties
  3. Under Tasks, select Device Manager. Alternatively, type "device manager" in the Windows search bar
  4. In Device Manager, expand Smart card readers, select the name of the smart card reader you want to check, and then select Properties
  5. In General tab, check the Status. If the status shows any errors or dysfunction, engage the responsible IT team to fix the issue with the device.
