I have a program to automate repetitive task in a website and is done in an App called UI Vision
(is a Chrome extension) and I’d like to know if can be replicated the same operations with UiPath
since for what I’ve seen is a very advance, stable and robust software.
The program has a macro that calls several sub macros and basically does this kind of operations:
Open URL
Locates input boxes(based on images or coordinates) and insert some text
Finds normal text within site and moves to that position
Finds text inside and image within site and moves to that position (with OCR)
Does click on some buttons
Waits next page to load completely
Uses loops, variables
Evaluates JavaScript code in some parts to do easier some steps
Moves cursor from one initial image or coordinate to a destination image or coordinate
Jumps between Google chrome tabs when needed
Images/coordinates are used in some parts instead of HTML/CSS locators or Xptah since they change very often.
I’ve tried to install Community Studio version but I have some errors and I’m still not able to test.
Yes, but UiPath does require a licence for commercial use. You can only use Community to evaluate if you like the product before purchasing a licence but UiPath can do all of what you say and as a market leader can likely do it better / easier.
UiPath features include: drag-and-drop workflow design, data scraping, intelligent scheduling, recording and playback, in-built activities, advanced scraping capabilities, debugging tools, visual workflow design, secure authentication, UiPath Studio, UiPath Robot, UiPath Orchestrator, and the ability to integrate with various applications and systems across platforms.
Key features breakdown:
Workflow Design:
Intuitive drag-and-drop interface to build complex automation workflows visually.
Data Scraping:
Extracting structured data from various applications and web pages using advanced scraping techniques.
Record and Playback:
Ability to record user actions on an application and automatically generate corresponding automation steps.
Intelligent Scheduling:
Dynamically scheduling automation processes based on priorities and deadlines through UiPath Orchestrator.
Debugging Tools:
In-built debugging features to identify and fix errors within automation workflows.
Activities Library:
Extensive pre-built activities for common automation tasks across various applications.
Cross-Platform Compatibility:
Automate processes across different operating systems and applications.
UiPath Studio:
The development environment for designing and building automation workflows
UiPath Robot:
The runtime engine that executes automation workflows on the user’s machine
UiPath Orchestrator:
Centralized platform for managing, monitoring, and scheduling automated processes
It means using it in a commercical capacity, so as part of any commerc
Somewhat, UiPath are notoriously bad at documentation, but the high level features are all documented on their website where you can look into the pricing of a licence.
There is a 60 day trial you can do and use to determine if you want to purchase, but licences aren’t cheap, at least 10-15k a year so getting it to automate a single task doesnt make sense.
ical operations in a business.
Personal use is to, for example, automate a task in your home to do something and this is allowed under the community licence, as is learning etc.
