How to update the license for On-Prem Orchestrator?

Hi, we have an on prem orchestrator whose license got expired. Client bought new license keys and we received a mail with documents from UiPath.

I tried to update the license for non-production but the orchestrator giving the below error.

Can you try updating with the Orchestrator Serial Number instead of Serial number given for some other specific product?

This error message suggests that the new license key you are trying to activate has reached its limit for the number of activations allowed. Each UiPath license key has a limited number of activations associated with it, and once that limit is reached, the key cannot be activated any further.

Hi, I logged in with host account and there was an option to update the license. I pressed update and it gave me 2 options - online and offline. I pressed online, but there’s no pop-up or anything.

Tried with offline - I have to first get a document from UiPath website by uploading the key, it also gives the same error as above in the post.

It’s actually the new key, even when I press update in HOST account nothing happens.

Is you are updating the key before it got expiry?
Also, check if you got the license as Flex License?

we had same issues earlier with old version of on-prem orchestrator. instead of trying different options could you please raise a ticket with the license key you have received to UiPath and mention it as high priority so that UiPath tech team will connect and guide you immediately. thanks

Possible Root Cause: This error appears when the user is logged in to the Host tenant and tries to activate the license instead of updating it.

Resolution:

  1. Click on “Update” rather than “Activate”.
  2. Alternatively, you can click on “Deactivate” and then “Activate”

Tried it too, support portal also throws an error. I have asked client to contact the sales rep and ask for support.

Hi, Tried both the things, when I press update and select online method, I won’t get any options. Like nothing happens.

Could you try connecting the website with different browser and see if you are able to create a ticket. And also try the below link for licensing Queries.

Thanks for the link. There’s a field called device ID, any idea how to get that? I tried to search the regutil.exe to get the info but couldn’t find it.

It’s a mandatory field, any other way I can find it?

are you not getting any info via regutil.exe ? in this case open any studio that is connected to the orchestrator and click help and see if you find any device ID or Activation ID try entering those details in the ticket. thanks
