Nothing happens when Update (Online) option is selected from License page. Any help or suggestions would be great.

Try with Offline updation
- It will ask you activate the license in the activation portal.
- After activation download the generated license file and upload your downloaded license and that’t it

Generally speaking licenses are not tied to a specific version of the product, but there is the Legacy License Key format and the new License Key format depending on when you were given this license key.
2019.10 brought the move to new licensing platform. Between Sept and Nov 2019 patches were releases for 2018.4 and 2019.4 to bring compatibility with the new licensing platform, and customer were migrated to the new platform between Sept 2019 and Feb 2020.

If you are having troubles I would recommend reaching out to support as if you key you have is old enough might not use the modern licensing mechanism, or perhaps on the backend the device or key hasn’t not been properly deactivated so that you can activate it again or you’ve reached your activation limits.
