How to set the input field empty before typing values

Hi,

I want to set the input field empty before typing the values/text if there is text already.

Hi,

If we use Simulate or ChromiumAPI. it’s auto empty field and we don’t need to take care it.
If we use SendWindowMessage or Hardware event, please set empty filed option.

What do you mean not able. What is happening? If you manually click into the field then manually press End, Shift+Home, Delete, what happens?

Have you tried different input methods?

Hi @raju_alakuntla

In the Type Into activity place Empty field Before Typing in Single Line or Multi Line and Keep the Input Method as Simulate. Simulate input method will automatically erase previous text.

I tried above mentioned activities but still it is not clearing the data and giving error without clicking into that input field.

The error message is “User Interface is not found”.

Simulate input method actually clears all the written text and types it again. Try keeping the activity in Simulate Method and type into Empty field before typing in Single Line.

In the properties panel of above image keep Input Mode as Simulate (Marked in yellow) and Empty Field as Single Line(Marked as green)

I tried what you have mentioned in the above. but still its giving error.

while indicating that input field target I selected the empty field. is this the reason for this error? But it should empty the field before it types. Here Its neither typing nor clicking. Its showing “User Interface couldn’t find” error.

If possible can we connect in google meet to solve this please.

Use input mode as hardware

Use click befor etyping

And empty field as single or multi line

It should work

And make sure your selector does not have aaname or innertext in them
