Free license revoked, i would like to transition to community license

Hello, i signed up for free trial 60 days ago and start following the UiPath academy schedule - did explorer training and now mid-point with developer associate training. But my free license has come to expiration (yesterday)

I would like to revert to a community license - where i can continue my learning, with studio. I know that should be possible.
Now for some reason i get the following message in my admin screen

I have these 25 automation express licenses which i do not need/want, and in principle i should not have them according to the following grid

So whenever i start Studio it actually launches Studio X which i do not want because all automations developed during training do not seem to work. I would like to work with regular Studio

Questions:

  1. how do i find out if i am on the community license ? rather than on another type of license which i for the moment don’t want. And more importantly - how do i switch to a community license if i am not on one right now
  2. how do i continue to work with studio and get rid of these 25 licenses which i do not need and supposedly according the error message above i should not have ?

Hi @MKB

Welcome to Community!

It seems your license plan might be not community plan but pro free plan.
For now, can you check your plan at Admin-License page in Automation Cloud as the following?

If it’s free plan, as there is only Automation Express license, Studio cannot be used.
Please create new organization as Community plan using another account or delete current organization then re-create new one.

Hope it helps!!

Hi @MKB

If you want to work with regular UiPath Studio Logout from current account and try to register the UiPath version again with same mail id but with different organization name. So, by doing that you can get the Studio with same mail ID.

If you want to access AI Center, Action Center you need to create a new account and enable the pro trail again to access those.

Hope you understand!!

Indeed you are right

i would like to keep the same account so what you are telling me to do is to delete my organization and re-create one - will try

Thanks

Hi @MKB

After the Expiry of Pro Trail edition the License will downgraded automatically to Express edition and the UiPath Studio will turn to Studio X. Then you are not able to use the Community edition and studio

You have two options to go to Community edition and to use studio,

  1. Change the Organization name of your current UiPath account but you are not able to use Pro Trial edition once more.
  2. Create a new account with the new Mail Id, then you are able to use Pro Trail edition and AI Center.

Hope it helps!!

sorry and you are sure i can recreate a new one ? and how do i do that ? thanks

Okay @MKB

You can create your account in the UiPath cloud website itself, Hit on Sign up and give your new mail account and create the account.

Hit on Try UiPath Free option then hit on signup to create new account,

Hope you understand!!

Will this impact - in any way - my work with UiPath academy ? ie my certification process ? or is the UiPath academy user account mgmt totally separate from the automation cloud ?
thanks

ok i greated a new org … but now when i start up studio it still starts up studio X. How can i do the switch back to studio ?

Good Question… @MKB

→ If you create a new account then all are new, but you get the Free Pro Trial for that account and you can manage the UiPath academy, Certifications, Forum and Community with the old account.

→ If you want to use the Old account you can change the organization name it will effect the whole orchestrator and orchestrator look like new, all old data will be deleted, you can use UiPath academy, Certifications and all with the same account.
But you can’t enable the Pro Trail and you cannot get the access for the AI Center and action center.

Hope you understand!!

Uninstall the Studio X and reinstall the UiPath Studio, then you are able to use the Studio.

Hope you understand!!

I hope you find the solution for your query, If yes Make my post mark as solution to close the loop, Else post your queries here happy to help… @MKB

Happy Automation!!

@MKB

If you have created new org…check what license is showing in admin panel…if it is community…then just make sure to edit allocation and allocate developer licenses to tenant…then create a user or adit user by going to tenant → manage access asn assign developer license or role

Then in assistant connect to new orchestrator…nad in studio go to settings → change profile and switch to studio

Cheers

Thanks Anil - i followed many of the instructions and created a new organization, but for some reason (probably as i was not looking at the right place) - I could not place myself into a community license group and i was put in a pro trial license scheme. So now again i have 60 days but after that i believe i will be “toast”
Thanks in any case

@MKB

Generally when you create first it deriectly you to pro license instead left side you would have o[tion to go to community license link try to click on it and create account…try this next time

Happy Automation
