Excel Application Scope sometimes inexplicably fails when running on a disconnected RDP session

We have an on-premises robot installed on a Citrix VM. The process executes flawlessly while the RDP session is in place.

However when the process triggered by a planned task executes while the RDP is disconnected from the VM. The process sometimes fails to open an Excel file through the Excel Application Scope activity.

Here is the error code :

UiPath.Core.WindowOperationException: Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.

I’ve tried adding a Kill excel activity right before the application scope one but it hasn’t resolved the issue. The Excel.activies package is using the 2.9.5 version which is up to date.
