Ctrl+S and Ctrl+Shift+S doesn't work anymore

Hello !

Well, that’s pretty much it. I used Studio few days ago and as far as I remember it was working.
Now I’m forced to click. It seems it’s not a visual bug since it doesn’t refresh the needed arguments in the invoke workflow activity.

To be sure, I’ve checked each of my 3 implied keyboard buttons on Microsoft word.

Can you please reset the UiPath Studio Setting and try?

Sur I can, but before doing that, I would like to know what will happen to my settings.

I guess the Studio UI will change… but what are the other changes ?

Thank you,

It will reset UiPath Studio settings back to default. You won’t lose anything, but any custom changes you made earlier will be removed and replaced with the default settings.

You can check your keyboard with third party application as well.

Hi @LamaX

Could you please close all opened instances of studio and then open the project again and try?

Hi @LamaX

Try to restart Studio, check Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts for Ctrl+S / Ctrl+Shift+S, update UiPath if needed the latest one.

happy automation

Hi !

I’ve tested the 3rd party application and it worked perfectly well.
I also made the settings back to default aaaaaand nothing changed. Still not working unfortunately.

I don’t know how to update but UiPath always suggests me to do it when it’s available.

That’s a strange error. Please try reinstalling UiPath Studio after uninstalling it.
Note: You will not lose your data when reinstalling the Studio.

You can reach out to UiPath Support for assistance; the screenshot below will guide you to the UiPath Support page

Well, everything is back to normal today. I have no explanation.
I haven’t uninstalled/reinstalled Studio. Yesterday, I tried to shut down the computer and nothing changed even after resetting.

But I just can figure that it works now for no obvious reason.

Thank you for all of your answers and help !

Hi @LamaX, could you grab a Diagnostic Tool export and DM it to me please? This is not the first time I read about this and I’d like to check the logs and see if there’s an exception preventing the save via shortcut from happening.

Hello @marius.bughiu !

Sure, I’ll be glad but after reading the documentation, I can’t find the diagnostic tool in the Start menu. Maybe I’m looking at the wrong place.
If you have the procedure to do so, let me know and I’ll do it.
Thank you,

Try to access manually this location C:\Program Files\UiPath\Studio\UiPath.DiagnosticTool.exe

In case you installed it on a different location, the path may be different, but the exe file will be the same UiPath.DiagnosticTool.exe.

Thank you very much.
Then, it’s done.

Thank you all for your help

Thank you, @LamaX , for providing the logs. I went through them, unfortunately at first glance they don’t contain any errors which would case this behavior, so we’ll continue trying to reproduce the behavior on our side.

I’ll revert back to the thread when I have an update.
In the meantime, if you notice a pattern in the way it reproduces - like, it always breaks after interacting with a particular activity, after a debug session, or after working with a certain panel, etc. (most likely something on the UI stealing all the focus and capturing all the shortcuts, so the Ctrl + S is not reaching the main window) - please let us know.

I see the same or similar behaviour (Studio 25.10.4). It seems Studio loses focus after code is edited, which is why using CTRL+S doesn’t work. I see the application title bar turning gray. If I have a browser screen open as well, it will try to save the webpage, because the keystrokes are sent there.

Likely related; when I click on a Studio pop-up, like the expression builder and then close/cancel it, sometimes Studio will disappear into the background. Any other app will be on the foreground.
