a sort of dialog appeared letting you choose to switch betweeen different accounts under your username.
Now (it’s been months that I experience this behaviour) that screen is shown for a fraction of a second, then it redirects you to the account you’re already logged in.
This is so annoying because it defeats the whole purpose of that screen.
My experience when I log into simply cloud.uipath.com is that it will always show me all the organizations my account is linked to and I can pick which one.
If its automatically redirecting that would usually just be if you already tried to navigate directly to an organization but got the login prompt.
@loginerror is this something you can explain or point to the team? I do not see anything on the docs related to it.
The solution/workadound for me is to use two different browsers, but i agree with Pere that it is annoying that the screen appears, but you are instantly redirected.
The screen below is instantly redirected. Is this a known issue or limited to CE or Enterprise license?
What do you see as the problem though…?
You only have access to one organization so its working correctly and skips the option to select one. It only stops there if you have multiple organizations to choose from.
I gave some extra information on what the problem is and what the screen looks like. I did not say i have that issue, because i only have one account linked on this account. But… Pere does have that problem and it doesn’t stop on that screen like you say.
Your and my experience are not a guideline. Pere experiences otherwise and is searching for an explanation on it. There is nothing more to it.
I try to keep it friendly. Just notice how the topic deviated to something completely unuseful and the amount of time we lost for nothing since you-know-who intervention. Just because he failed to properly read the information and/or has this tendency to deny other user’s problems. A sort of troll, intentionally or not.
Ok, clear. I thought you were trying to demo you also having the issue, as I stated I expect it to indeed redirect if you only have one organization and don’t get the issue with multiple organizations myself.
Maybe to speed things up for you. If you have an enterprise license it would be best to address this forum topic in a support ticket. Otherwise i have to address the complete forum staff, which i do not prefer.
I am on CE license so i have no access to support.
Sometimes I use both, as sometimes forum is faster, or support tickets are not reliable. For instance, look at this reply they gave:
Question/Ticket title:
How to use “Get Record” with object type “Teams async operation” in Teams activity
Answer:
Follow the format of the url in the docs you shared. From your image, remove the GET part of the url.
The answer is wrong; I replied them a million times in the support ticket (and in another one I specificly opened to complaint) that didn’t work and urged them to try their own anser. They didn’t, they kept insisting in the same. Eventually I found out myself with the help of ChatGTP who provided “logical” variations and tryouts. The answer is posted here, in the form of a tutorial:
If you have previously logged in an Automation Cloud organization and you have a valid authentication token, you are not being prompted to the intermediary screen to choose your organization if you load http://cloud.uipath.com/ , as @Jon_Smith pointed out.
If you want to be prompted with an intermediary screen to choose your other organizations you are part of, you need to first click on Sign out of the current organization (snapshot 1), and they when you will try to login in again on http://cloud.uipath.com/ , after you select your verified identity, you will be prompted to select the organization (snapshot 2). I hope this brings some clarity.
As several forum participants suggested, if you are an enterprise customer, we encourage you to submit a support ticket if you encounter issues. Not certain what staff you are referring to, but the forum is a best effort channel for getting support from the community (there is no UiPath staff to ensure timely responses, for that we have the UiPath Technical support channel for enterprise customers). While I understand that your previous experience with the Technical Support has caused dissatisfaction, reaching out to them is the way to get the proper support, within SLAs, depending on the urgency.
I think it is fair to summarize that entering Cloud via this url is not a supported (expected) entry point and this is why it didn’t get more attention.
@Iulia_Istrate I suppose we could still take it as feedback around making it easier to switch between the organizations, given that the intermediate screen that flashes when you use cloud.uipath.com/portal_/existingaccount to access your current session proves that the session has access to all other organizations and we could maybe use this to offer a way to switch it without logging out/in again.
Reassigning this to @danielbuca as he owns Identity and he can explore further optimizations.
It is by design that an authentication token shall not be automatically used for all organizations that the user is part of, because it requires to recheck the authorization the users has in each organization. But I will let Daniel design for better experience.
I didn’t know that kind of URL was not supported for accessing cloud.
That’s the one I had on my boomarks and previously I remember I had the option to choose to which account I’d like to switch to.
That’s were all the confusion is coming from.
If it’s done by design, I’ll adhere to the rules.
But it was handy to have an screen where you had the option to choose to which account you wanted to switch to without all the hassle of having to sign out and reauthenticate.
As per the reasons about asking here, I already explained them here before. I will resort to whatever resources I have at hand.
