Citrix Automation- Remote runtime exe

I found that during Citrix Automation, “uipath remote runtime.exe is not running”
message. on searching the forum it tells that remote server needs install of runtime.exe.

Is it true? Can we not have an application completely running from client application? This is similar to actually installing the UIPATH in citrix.
