Use Case Description

Mr. M. Nantha Kumar is working as a MIS Executive in the Admin Department at TCS, Chennai One office. Every year in the month of June, a large number of freshers join the TCS office across India. His role involves issuing identity cards to all freshers joining as Assistant System Engineer Trainees at the Chennai office. He has all the new joiners’ photos stored in a folder named “Freshers.” However, the photos have different backgrounds, which are not suitable for creating proper identity cards. Without any knowledge of photo editing tools like Photoshop or Corel Draw, Mr. Nantha Kumar manually removes the background by uploading each image to the website https://www.remove.bg/ and downloading the processed image after the background is removed. This manual process is time-consuming and causes delays in issuing the identity cards to the freshers. To help him automate this process, a UiPath RPA bot can be developed. This bot will read all the images one by one from the specified folder, open the website https://www.remove.bg/, upload the image, convert it, and store the processed image in a separate folder named “Freshers-Without-Background.” This automation will save Mr. M. Nantha Kumar’s time and ensure the timely issuance of identity cards to the freshers.

Objective:

Automate the process of removing backgrounds from fresher photos and storing the processed images in a separate folder.

Prerequisites:

1. UiPath Studio installed.
2. Folder named “Freshers” containing the photos of new joiners.
3. Target folder named “Freshers-Without-Background” to store processed images.
