Attended RPA Automation with POS Systems

I came across a customer today who would like to use RPA attended Automation solution for POS System operations at their billing area. I told him that the process might not be a fit for RPA implementation. But he suggested me to re-check if there is any feasibility and get back to him. Can anyone suggest whether we can do this or not using RPA???

Could you please tell more details about the issue. Why it is not for automation. What challenges will come if we will try to automate the application ?

This is one sample reference case which the client mentioned during our conversation. I am sure attended automation is suitable but I am still unclear whether it fits for a RPA Automation. If it fits can anyone suggest how it fits???

what do you mean Attended automation is not RPA automation? Or do you mean that the case is more for an unattended bot to do and not directly in the operator machine as attended bot?

I assumed that if at all we wanna use RPA in this case this it would be a Attended RPA Automation. But my concern is to what extent an attended bot could fit into this case

You will want to use attended automation when a bot can help the real person to be faster at something, or even to give more attention to the customer he is helping while a bot can go fetch some information or something like that.

Customer purchase items and tender AMEX credit card w/ rewards card

o On the Cashier’s screen

§ Scan or Enter SEG reward card Fully Enrolled

§ Scan or Enter Items (ex. Items worth $30.00)

§ Select ‘TOTAL’

§ Select ‘Electronic Tender’ on payment type screen

o On the Pin-pad

§ Customer Inserts EMV Visa Card on the Pin-pad

§ Select YES to confirm the amount of sale

§ Customer Removes Card

o Cashier verifies and hand over the receipt to the customer
