UiPath newbie here asking for information about problems after updating program.
I have uploaded today new updates for UiPath. Very soon after that, got some messages (And cannot open anything old / new projects). I have closed laptop and restarted it, same result.

Please right click on UiPath icon and then select run as adminstartor and then open the project from

Thanks for reply. I have tested, worked fine.
Another funny element was noticed, Orchestrator doesn’t connect to cloud Anymore. It says sign in (but doesn’t connect)… See blue picture. Before this updates, it connected almost always automatically to Orchestrator.
I was curious to test sign in with normal web browsers… And I had used another browser (Chrome, in this test scenario)…and it was opened and signing in worked as usual. But Studio program doesn’t want to connect.
Second notices after this incident… 
Some test runs to test current project (or older projects) cannot run anymore.
Something still went wrong…
Open assistant also in afmin mode …they it might show…or open assistant and sign in it ahould ideally connect

This is a poor fix. Don’t do it.
The issue is due to some bug related to the new release, for some reason the packages in the install folder do not have the correct permissions.
Go to that packages folder and set it and all the files into it to Full Control for all users. Your projects will open correctly again after that.
There are other topics on this discussing this including one that has replies from a UiPath staff member who also shows how to do it via command line.
