Hi everyone, Can anyone tell us the limitation of using the UiPath with Abbyy FlexiCapture engine to process the douments when it is compared to Abbyy FlexiCapture standalone software?

The FlexiCapture Standalone software provides more options for pre and post processing and it necessary for creating the FlexiLayout to be used by the engine.

The IntelligentOCR activities (which use FlexiCapture Engine) provides a better integration between UiPath Studio and ABBYY FlexiCapture, since you can start processing of documents and do validation directly from the workflow. In addition, you have access to a FCDocument object, which can be used in different ways by the robot, instead of having to parse a CSV file generated by FlexiCapture for example.

So, in the end, while the IntelligentOCR activities doesn’t provide all the features found in FlexiCapture Standalone, it makes the development of OCR-related workflows easier.

Using Abbyy Flexicapture for Invoices, documents can be classified, processed, and validated where the same can be achievable using the UiPath and FlexiCapture engine along with the FC studio to create the Flexilayout. Is this correct?

To extract data from invoices having different formats without having to create multiple robots, you can use the IntelligentOCR activities: https://activities.uipath.com/docs/about-the-intelligentocr-activities-pack

These activities make use of ABBYY FlexiCapture Engine, which you need to have installed and licensed on the same computer the robot is using. In addition, the licenses that are compatible with the IntelligentOCR activities must be issued by UiPath; i.e., they won’t work if you get a license from another source.

If you are a enterprise user, you can get in touch with your point of contact in UiPath (or through Contact Licensing Queries & Activations) and request a trial license to test if this solution meets your needs.

Yes, you need to install FlexiCapture Engine in order to extract data from different types of documents if you are planning to use the IntelligentOCR activities for that.

I didn’t understand this part. Orchestrator and machine keys aren’t related to this topic. What you need is a license key for FlexiCapture engine, not for Orchestrator.

UiPath will provide the trial license but one license per organisation (1000 pages or 60 days whichever is earlier), It’s enterprise level trial only. contact UiPath sales team for more information.

Try installing Uipath.IntelligentOCR.Activities Package.
Under Flexicapture you will find activities related To FC.

You can perhaps find more details on FlexiCapture Extractor here. ABBYY FlexiCapture Engine SDK is required for this extractor to work and will require ABBYY FlexiCapture Engine Standalone 12 license distributed by the UiPath Sales department.
