Server Compliance
Use Case Description
Server Compliance is a use case in which we check the compliance of the windows server set out by the organization and to check if they are following all the necessary compliances as per the latest standard. The client has an approx. of 9000+ servers deployed and it’s very difficult for them to check it regularly and if they want this to be done it takes them 1 full day with 7 FTE’s.
Under this we will be checking if the Compliance is been followed as per the criteria been set by the client. We will also check which OS version is been set for all the Windows server.
We have 7 data sources that involves getting information from API, SQL Database, Jave based Application, Web-based. The information allows us to identify if the server is compliant as per the latest standard. We fetch the following information from all the data source -
- Server Host Name
- OS Version
- Last Scan on
First we merge all the information on the basis of Server Name and try to obtain the list of servers name which we aren’t getting any information from any data-source. We also compare if the Last Scan is more than 7 days. If this is the case, we force the application via API or manual trigger to allow the application to be scanned.
The final report is shared with the client and also dump the data to Database so we also create a Dashboard for them which contains the list of information on the basis of all application for last 9 days.
