Unauthorized Error While Browsing For Test Manager

Resolution steps for fixing the unauthorized error while browsing for Test Manager.

Issue Description: Sometimes, while launching Test Manager in the browser, an error is encountered that says "You do not have the necessary rights to access this application."

Check the address bar, "unauthorized" might be getting appended to the Test Manager URL.

Root Cause #1: Wrong Tenant

This error can occur when trying to access the Test Manager via a different tenant than the one with which it was originally integrated during installation. Check step-9 under the 'Installation' section for more details.
Fix:

To resolve this, ensure leveraging the correct tenant for which Test Manager is installed for.



Root Cause #2: Authentication Misconfiguration

During setup of Test Manager, key parameters need to be added and set on the Orchestrator and Test Manager machines. Not applying these can lead to the error.
Fix:
Ensure the changes and other Test related criteria are applied properly.



Root Cause #3: Missing EXECUTE permission in the Test Manager Database

During setup of Test Manager, database creation privileges are required. Post installation completion, these privileges can be ended by dbas looking to secure their environment. If EXECUTE permissions are not retained, Test Manager will reveal a missing EXECUTE permissions SQL exception in the event viewer logs of the Test Manager machine and also show the error in the browser.
Fix:
Ensure that the Test Manager database user has EXECUTE permissions .
