UiPath Autopilot & Microsoft Teams Integration

Hi All,

I’m currently using the Autopilot Teams integration to access and run my automation directly from Teams. While I can execute automation’s successfully, I’ve noticed some limitations:

  • The Teams integration does not seem to retrieve content in the same way as the UiPath Assistant interface.

Is this a known limitation of the current Autopilot Teams integration, or is there a configuration step that I might be missing?

Hi,

Sorry to bother, I installed the Teams Autopilot app but can only go up to select tenant, cant see or run any automations. Anything else you done before you can run them ?

"It seems that I don’t have the capability to browse automations directly within this chat. However, you can browse available automations in UiPath Orchestrator or within your UiPath Studio environment.
If you need help with a specific task or automation, feel free to ask!

The behavior you’re experiencing with the Autopilot Teams integration might be due to some inherent differences between the Teams interface and the UiPath Assistant. While the Autopilot integration allows for automation execution directly from Teams, it doesn’t always support the full range of functionality or access to certain types of content that UiPath Assistant can.

Some potential reasons for the differences include:

  1. Environment Configuration: The integration might not have full access to the same environment or permissions as the UiPath Assistant, limiting its ability to interact with or retrieve specific content.

  2. Execution Context: Automations run through Teams may have a different execution context or scope, potentially restricting access to certain applications, files, or data compared to UiPath Assistant.

  3. Autopilot Limitations: The current Autopilot Teams integration might not fully support certain actions that the Assistant can handle, especially with respect to complex interactions or UI elements.

To address this, you could:

  1. Review Permissions: Ensure that the necessary permissions for both Teams and the automations are configured correctly, and that the integration has the required access to external resources or content.

  2. Consult Documentation: Check UiPath’s documentation and community forums to see if there are known limitations or configuration steps for retrieving content via the Autopilot Teams integration.

  3. Reach Out to Support: If you continue to encounter issues, contacting UiPath support or consulting the community could provide more insights or potential workarounds.

Hi @jaxng, where are you trying to run the Automations from, the UiPath Assistant?

You need to deploy the Processes in Orchestrator, into the Autopilot folder that’s created when you deploy Autopilot for Everyone.

Once you do that, you should be able to see them in the assistant

Hi Luke,

No, no issue with assistance. I’m trying out the autopilot in Teams and read that its able to trigger automations so figuring how to do that.

Can you send me a screenshot of what you see, I should be able to help
