The 'Open workflow' button does nothing when invoking a workflow

I’ve just upgraded my Studio to version 2024.10.6 and now I can’t open any of my ‘Invoke workflows’ with the ‘Open workflow’ button. This happens in every single one of my projects.

This happened on System.Activities version 24.10.5, and is still happening even though I updated to 24.10.6.
Same with UIAutomation.Activities: updated this to 24.10.8 and it still happens. Obviously I’ve tried restarting Studio, but that did not resolve my issue.

I’ve read articles related to this, but I can’t find a solution that works for me.

This issue still persists, and all of my co-workers that upgraded to the new version of Studio have this issue as well. Is this a known issue, and is a fix being developed? I have no idea who to ask so I hope you can shed some light on this issue since it’s a pretty annoying issue  @loginerror

Hi @AA12

Any chance you could:

  1. Confirm this reproduces on a fresh, new project and latest Studio as well as latest System package 24.10.7.
  2. Share the zip of that project with me
  3. Go to Debug → Open Logs in your Studio to open the folder with Studio logs.
  4. Share the most recent 2024-12-09_UiPath.Studio.Project.log file that you can find there (via a private message to me)

This is strange, but for the record - this is the latest and expected behaviour:

Hi there, thanks for your reply! It doesn’t work even on a new project. I have private messaged you the zip and the logs!

Are you trying to open from a shared folder??

If yes - try copying to local machine and open

Thank you, but no I’m not.

Provide the full path of the location of the Studio project.
Go to File Explorer → This PC → Expand the Network → Provide a full-page screenshot of the File Explorer window.

If based on the screenshots we will see that you are not using Network/Shared locations, then you will need to open a ticket with Support to debug further.

Please retry on the latest April studio release. It should be fixed now

Good morning,

I’m running into the same issue - have tried 2024.10.10 and found the Open Workflow button also wouldn’t work on a project that’s located on an on-prem shared drive. I updated to 2024.10.12 and had the same behaviour. Right click > Open workflow works fine, but the button itself doesn’t.
Unfortunately I cannot use the latest release as it’s not in the Long Term support and we need an LTS one for the enterprise environment.

As other users here, I tried updating dependencies to the latest version, rebuilding, opening some older and some newer projects, deleting project.json and system folders and letting it rebuild on its own, nothing helped. I downgraded to 2023.10.12 on the same machine and all worked fine.

Please can you advise if there’s a fix that can be applied to 2024.10.12, or do I wait for the next LTS version for enterprise? Many thanks!
