PowerBI refresh after Excel new data

Hey Community,

we have a little project at university:

  1. we write some data
  2. these data are used for a ML-Code to make a prediction
  3. Data has to be load in a Excel sheet
  4. if Data are new in excel sheet we need to refresh (automatically) PowerBI

We have step 1-3 but we can’t find a possibility to connect uipath with powerBI.

Any ideas

Hi,

There are multiple ways to solve for this scenario, but the first step is to upload the PowerBI Report to the PowerBI portal and set scheduled refresh for Incremental Updates. This would ensure that the dataset is refreshed every time new data is added to the excel. If that is not an option then try the below options -

  1. If the Excel File in on a OneDrive, then call the PowerBI Refresh API - POST https://api.powerbi.com/v1.0/myorg/datasets/{datasetId}/refreshes and it would refresh the data using the HTTP activity

  2. If the Excel File is on an On-Prem location, for example a Network Shared Drive, then, Create a Connector using on On-Prem Gateway and use an Automated Cloud Flow with a trigger for File Update to get the job done
