Validation Error: Validation of ObjectBrowser failed.

Hello,
I am a user of UiPath Studio 2026.0.201STS Community Edition.

I installed the Community Edition on two PCs (PC1 and PC2) and placed multiple projects in OneDrive to run them. Until about a week ago, I could successfully run the same project from both PCs, but recently, I can no longer execute the projects that worked on PC1 from PC2.

PC1 environment: UiPath Studio Community Edition version 2026.0.197STS
PC2 environment: UiPath Studio Community Edition version 2026.0.201STS
There is no synchronization issue between the cloud side and the local side of OneDrive.

Today, a different project encountered the following error, separate from the previous ones:

Error ERROR Validation Error Validation of ObjectBrowser failed. Cannot enumerate objects in C:\Users\(omitted)\.objects. Access to the path 'C:\Users\(omitted)\.objects\.metadata' is denied. .objects

I will upload the 2026-09-16_UiPath.Studio.log, so if anyone knows the cause and how to resolve it, please let me know. There is no execution.log.

1. Close UiPath Studio completely.

2. Make a local copy of the affected project, for example:```

C:\UiPath\MyProject

Do not work from:

C:\Users\<user>\OneDrive\...

3. Check the .objects folder permissions.

Navigate to:

<local-project>\.objects

Right-click → Properties → Security.

Your Windows account should have Modify / Read / Write access.

Also check that the folder/files aren’t effectively read-only. There is a UiPath forum case where moving a project caused Object Repository files to become read-only, and clearing the read-only attribute resolved the issue.

You can also run this from an elevated Command Prompt if needed:

attrib -R "C:\UiPath\MyProject\.objects" /S /D

4. Test the .metadata file directly

Check whether this exists:

C:\UiPath\MyProject\.objects\.metadata

Try opening/copying/renaming it from Windows Explorer.

If Windows itself reports Access Denied, the problem is definitely filesystem/OneDrive permissions rather than the Object Browser configuration.

There are many files within the project, but the files under OneDrive’s .object directory were not syncing. Thank you. :folded_hands:
