[Error] Project build failed. Error code: 1

Good evening
I am a user of UiPath Studio 2026.0.201STS Community edition.

I have placed multiple projects in OneDrive and installed Community Edition on two PCs (PC1 and PC2) to run these projects. Until now, I have successfully executed the same project from both PCs.

Environment on PC1: UiPath Studio Community Edition version 2026.0.197STS
Environment on PC2: UiPath Studio Community Edition version 2026.0.201STS
The package versions are:
UiPath.System.Activities v26.8.1
UiPath.Excel.Activities v3.6.1
and are the same.

A week ago, I was able to run Project 1 from PC1, but when I try to run Project 1 from PC2, the output panel shows

[Information] Setting up environment
[Information] Execution completed
[Error] The project build failed. Error code: 1

and I can no longer run Project 1 from PC2. Today, I encountered the exact same error with another project “Bulk Rename Files” on OneDrive, confirming that it can be executed from PC1 but not from PC2.

To summarize the information about the environment:

  1. I have confirmed that OneDrive is synchronized on both the cloud and local sides, so it is not the cause.
  2. The only difference in the UiPath environment is the STS version. The package versions are the same.

The incident history is as follows:

  1. When debugging the “Bulk Rename Files” project from PC2, the following error was displayed in the output panel.
[Information] Setting up environment
[Information] Execution completed
[Error] The project build failed. Error code: 1

Looking at “2026-09-15_UiPath.Studio.log”

there was no error information other than

[1] The project build failed. Error code: 1

There was also no error information left in “2026-09-15_execution.log”.

If anyone knows the cause and possible solutions, please let me know.

Although operational verification has not been performed, considering the similarity to the case below, the likely cause is presumed to be the incomplete synchronization of some OneDrive files within the project folder. Therefore, this case will be closed.
