.msi & .exe - what's the difference?

i want to understand what’s the different between ‘MSI Installer’ and ‘EXE Installer’?
Should i differentiate them as ‘Enterprise - Need buy license’ and ‘Community - Everyone can use without buying license’ ?

@pitaty

.exe Installer - Its User Mode Installer and Community Edition is .exe installer

.msi Installer - Its Windows Installer and Enterprise Edition is .msi installer

Hi @pitaty

As I know, MSI files are installer files from windows that are built in to windows itself. Usually windows features are installed using msi files. In the other hand .exe files can be any installation file that we create. Setup.exe files can have msi files within it to install certain files in your machine while running.

About the community edition of UiPath studio, it’s free for everyone…

Still, i can’t understand the different between them. How can we decide which one should be used?

Use msi if you are using Enterprise, exe if you are using Community, I suggest.
