Keyboard shortcut is not working Control+Alt+W

Hi All,

I am trying to give the keyboard short cut as control+Alt+W for one of the process in the robot assistant.

Can someone please help me to understand why it is not possible to keep the keyboardshortcut as Control+Alt+W

While typing the same as above it is showing like below

Thank you in advance for your assistance regarding this issue.

Hi

Setting keyboard shortcuts, like Control+Alt+W, for certain actions in a robot assistant may not work if the combination is already reserved by your operating system or other software. It’s possible that the Control+Alt+W combination is used by another application or the OS itself, which can lead to conflicts.

To resolve this issue, you may want to choose a different keyboard shortcut that is not already in use. Make sure to select a combination that is unique and not conflicting with any other software on your system.

Hi Praveen,

Thank you for your reply, but I did not use Control+Alt+W for any other processes and I have only one process available in Robot Assistant.

Hi

The keyboard shortcut Control+Alt+W is already reserved for the UiPath Web Recording tool. When you try to assign this keyboard shortcut to a process in UiPath Assistant, you will receive an error message.

In UiPath Assistant, certain keyboard shortcuts are reserved for system-wide actions and cannot be used as shortcuts for specific processes. “Control+Alt+W” may be one of those reserved shortcuts, which is why you’re unable to use it for your process in the Robot Assistant.

Alternatively u can either look for another combination of shortcut or u can pause the bot bring a attended bot before the time when u want to do this keyboard shortcut and continue the rest in automated way

Hope this helps

Cheers @Vishnu_Vardhan_Addagada

In case not solved

  1. Trying a different keyboard shortcut: If Control+Alt+W isn’t working, you can choose an alternative key combination for your process within UiPath.
  2. Updating UiPath: Ensure that you’re using the latest version of UiPath, as software updates often include bug fixes and improvements. Sometimes, issues with keyboard shortcuts can be resolved in newer releases.

You can use this different keyboard shortcuts then

  1. Ctrl + Alt + any letter or number combination (e.g., Ctrl+Alt+A, Ctrl+Alt+1)
  2. Ctrl + Shift + any letter or number combination (e.g., Ctrl+Shift+A, Ctrl+Shift+1)
  3. Ctrl + Alt + Function keys (e.g., Ctrl+Alt+F1, Ctrl+Alt+F2)
  4. Ctrl + Alt + Special keys (e.g., Ctrl+Alt+Delete, Ctrl+Alt+Insert)

Hi @Vishnu_Vardhan_Addagada

The keyboard shortcut “Control+Alt+W” might be already assigned to a system-level or application-level function on your computer. When a keyboard shortcut is already in use, UiPath may not allow you to assign it to a robot process to avoid conflicts.

Try selecting a different keyboard shortcut that is not already in use or reserved by your operating system or applications.
