Issue with community edition installer

when I try to open up the installer, it gives me the error: Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified location exists and is writable. I’ve tried restarting windows explorer and redownloaded the community edition several times. Unsure of why this is happening? Can’t seem to find any solutions online because I haven’t installed the community edition and I can’t even access the installer or anything

Welxome tot he community

Is it an office laptop? If so may be installations are blocked

If not can you show a screenshot of the error and did you do atleast one step or is it failing on opening or double clicking the installation icon

Cheers

@03dc,

What’s the operating system on the laptop?
Also check if your laptop is fulfilling the prerequisites.

os is windows 11
my laptop fulfills all the prerequisites from the list

@03dc,

Can you try installing as admin?
Right click on the Studio setup exe and click on Run as Administrator

unable to run as administrator, no options showing up for that

@03dc,

Copy the installation exe to other drive or folder and check if you are getting the Rin as administrator option.

still unable to get the run as administrator option

@03dc,

I just checked for the issue and it’s Windows 11 issue. You will have to fix it first and then try to install the Studio.

hi, thanks for replying, managed to fix the issue via creating a new admin account. I am now able to install Studio!
