How long does it take to train an ML Model in AI Center?

I know the answer to the question above is “It depends on many factors.” However, I’m wondering if there is any way to estimate how long it takes to train a DU ML Model.

This blog post estimates (under the Estimating time to value section) that it takes about 4 hours to train a Comms Mining Model.

Just wondering if there is a way to estimate this for an OOTB ML Model (like the Invoices Model) and for a Custom ML Model.

Thanks.

Hello @Joe_Matuch!

It seems that you have trouble getting an answer to your question in the first 24 hours.
Let us give you a few hints and helpful links.

First, make sure you browsed through our Forum FAQ Beginner’s Guide. It will teach you what should be included in your topic.

Anyone have an estimate for this? Maybe you’ve created a model using the Invoices package and have deployed it? About how long did it take you to go to Prod?

@Joe_Matuch

it totally depends on the test data volume that you use for training the model and if you are using GPU or CPU for training purpose.

for us, with 200 documents of test data it took 1 hour with GPU.

if you use GPU for training, it is 10 times faster than CPU.
