While upgrading Studio, the installation reaches up to Registering Product and right after that, the process rolled back automatically and displayed the error "Error while installation Studio" .
- Verify the Install logs.
- From the logs, observe the following error( or something similar)
MSI (s) (AC:78) [15:01:49:548]: WIN64DUALFOLDERS: Substitution in 'C:\Program Files (x86)\UiPath\Studio\ProjectTemplates\Business Project\RuntimeExecutionError_Template.html' folder had been blocked by the 1 mask argument (the folder pair's iSwapAttrib member = 0).
- The above error states OS configuration related issues.
Resolution:
- Disable anti-virus or anti-spyware software
- Check windows update
- Clear %TEMP% folder
- Run the installer as administrator
- Repair the 2015 VC redistributables and restart the Studio installer. The redistributable installer could mix up 64bit and 32bit DLL's.
