Critical Internal Error while using Studio(REF)

Lately every time I use Studio(especially REF), I continually get a message saying:

Error: UiPath.Studio.Contracts.RecoverableException: Studio closed the active project due to a critical internal error. You may retry to open the project.

I’m quite perplexed as it was working just fine doing simple processes, but as soon as I try using REF, I get error after error and have to make sure I save my work every second so I don’t lose anything I do.

What might be the reason for this?

It might be worth noting that I got a pop-up asking me to update my Studio about a week ago, could the new release be the issue?

Welcome to the community

  1. It can be the studio issue ..looks like youa re community there might be changes
  2. It can be that the space is less in your main drive

Cheers

Thank you for your reply.

-It can’t be a storage issue as I have 100GB+ free space on my main C drive
-Does that mean I need to move to an enterprise version instead of the community one to potentially solve the problem?

@Ukhona_Malibe1

Wait for a lest version to come in..community generally you would have latest version coming in with patches

Alternately you can try to uninstall and download latest version from downloads in orchestrator and reinstall and check

Cheers

Hi @Ukhona_Malibe1

That error means Studio hit a critical crash, and we’ll need the logs to see what’s happening.

Please do this:

  1. Reproduce the issue in Studio until the error appears.
  2. Right after it happens, open UiPath Diagnostic Tool (from Start Menu).
  3. Run the collection wizard → just click Next, Next, Finish.
  4. It will generate a ZIP with the logs (path shown at the end) – please attach/share it here.

Also, could you let me know the steps that trigger the crash (e.g., creating a new REF project, running Main, editing Config.xlsx, etc.)? That will help us reproduce it on our side.
