Hey @bharathi_ganesan,

You’re getting a 403 Forbidden error likely due to a Microsoft account permission issue. Try these quick fixes:

  1. Sign out of all Microsoft accounts in your browser.
  2. Close all tabs, reopen Studio Web, and reconnect.
  3. Use a personal Microsoft account (like Outlook/Hotmail) if using a work one.
  4. If it’s a corporate account, ask IT to allow UiPath access.

Let me know if you need help with any step.

should i use outlook ? not gmail ?
and currently am using gmail personal account and its not working

Hey @bharathi_ganesan,

Thanks for the update! Yes — for connecting Excel in Studio Web, you need to use a Microsoft account (like Outlook.com, Hotmail, or a work account with Microsoft 365 access).

Since you’re currently using a Gmail account, it won’t work because it doesn’t support Microsoft’s Excel Online integration.

Let me you facing any further issues

@bharathi_ganesan,

Can you show how this are trying to connect?

when i click on connect to microsoft , it lands in sign in page , when i give the account details getting the error. Now i tried with outlook account but no luck

can anyone help me with this. This is blocking my learning

Hi @bharathi_ganesan,

If you’re still getting the 403 error even with an Outlook account, follow these steps to resolve it:

  1. Use a Personal Microsoft Account
    Make sure it’s a personal Outlook.com or Hotmail.com account — not a work or school account, as those often restrict API access needed by Studio Web.

  2. Clear Browser Sessions

    • Sign out of all Microsoft accounts.
    • Clear browser cache and cookies.
    • Close all tabs and reopen Studio Web in an incognito window.
  3. Reconnect to Excel
    Try connecting again. When prompted, accept all permissions requested by UiPath.

  4. If Still Blocked
    Go to: https://account.microsoft.com/account

    • Ensure your account is active and not linked to an organization with restricted access.

Let me know if the error appears before login or after submitting credentials—that will help narrow it down.

@bharathi_ganesan

  1. For using excel online you need a non personal o365 license
  2. If gmail..one way you can do is send an email with attachment excel then you have workbook activities like read range ehich dont need any license …that can be used to read the data into datatable and then loop on datatable as you need
  3. Or you can alao try the same by kewping in gdrive and use download file and then read…or keep data in gsheet

Cheers

@bharathi_ganesan,

Got your issue. You can’t use personal free account here. You would require Office 365 licenced account.
