Using element exists with if/ then condition

hello,
I’m trying to add to a current flow when an error occurs. I’m searching an admin platform for employees. It works if the employee shows in the search, but some of the employes on my list don’t show in the search, so I need it to preform an alt task if search results are blank.

I have tried using the element exists function with if/then, however it keeps saying the value for element exists is undeclared.

Is there another way I can preform the task?
