Updating a user mode robot to service

Hello ,
I’m trying to update my robot from user mode to service mode.
Can anyone give me the steps to follow without affecting anything already done

You can unistall and reinstall it and then reconnect orchestrator using assistant…nothing would break

Hi,

We might be able to change it installer option as the following.

If we installed UiPath as System Install (not Per User Install), we might be able to choose “Register UiPath robot as Windows Service”

If we installed UiPath as Per User Install, we need to re-install UiPath.

The studio is on my computer and the robot is running in a VM.
Should i reinstall a new studio or create a new robot?

Hi,

Where is your UiPath installation path? If it’s under c:\Users[username]\AppData\Local\Programs\UiPath (not under “c:\Program files”), it’s Per User install and there is no way but re-install to change it to service mode.

On Vm install the robot in service mode…no change for studio is required
