Update Process whilst job is running

Would it be possible to allow a process to be updated whilst it is running, so that when the job next runs it picks up the new process.

Currently we have a process that runs almost 24/7, starting/stopping 3 times a day on a schedule. The only way to update it is to either wait for a time slot where it isn’t running (which is once a day during working hours), or manually stop and restart the process - which is not ideal, because when you manually start a process you can’t set a “Stop After” time.

I don’t think it is possible.
If some jobs are running, then the process/package will be locked until it finishes. It is a basic working principle.

Let us hear from the forum for more opinions.

It won’t allow the package update while jobs are running

We need to wait until the jobs finished to update package

Thanks

I think you have misunderstood.

I’m not wanting it to update whilst running. I’m wanting it to update as soon as the job ends, based on a click to update whilst the job was running.

E.G

  1. Job Starts @ 9:00am
  2. I click update process at 10:15am (it doesn’t update instantly)
  3. Job Finishes at 1:00pm
  4. Process updates automatically based on my earlier click to update.
  5. Job Starts again at 2:00PM based on the updated process.

Got it. :+1:
