I just updated to UiPath 23.4.2 (community version), and found Publishing Projects from the Command Line is broken. The error shows: “Publish failed: Object reference not set to an instance of an object”.
Tested on another Windows computer with previous version 23.4.1, works well
Yeah I’m having the EXACT same issue as well. I kinda wish this program was not fiddled with. Maybe let the public know of this error as it was really difficult to research this problem and just came across this message by pure chance and am finidng no reference anywhere else. It is a relief to see this and I hope it is, indeed, fixed soon.
Also, please keep this application backward compatible should someone need to re-install a legacy robot some time from now.
I can confirm. I have received this update and the program appears to be working again. A colleague of mine is complaining he is still seeing problems but perhaps he doesn’t have the update yet.
Going forward (slightly different matter) - Yes please allow this program to be backward compatible to legacy code when that is discontinued, but also, able to rollback in the event a bug like this is found again. This will allow us to continue with stable robots until a fix has been found where-as right now we have no choice but to take the update which might break the robot.
Also, finding information on this program in general is very difficult - is it possible to make the manual on this more visible - as rummaging through forums and manuals is tedious? I enjoy the idea of building a robot and letting it run at a simple click of an icon instead of having to load Studio to run it each time… far more efficient and clean looking.
Anyway, thanks for your attention to this matter and getting it fixed so quickly. Cheers.
I have received a corrected Beta but I’d like to know the ETA on the next stable release with this fix installed will be coming as I am getting questions from colleagues who do not subscribe to Beta releases wondering when a new one will come?
Thnaks.
