I am attempting to install Orchestrator and wanted to know if it was possible to connect Orchestrator to an existing SQL instance, or will Orchestrator always create a new instance in a backend? I’ve already setup a blank DB instance that was set aside and wanted to use that if possible.

Yes ofcourse you can use the existing server where Uipath will create a new DB with the name UiPath. Can you let me know if this is the answer you are looking for?

I guess you won’t face any issue if you use old Database. That is upto you and want to use old or new Database.
You can configure a new db or an existing db while orchestrator install or upgrade. However recommend you to have an separate db for orch and not to share it with any other process/application.
