UiADP-v1 exam feedback/recommendations

Hello there,

Has anyone got (or taken) the new UiADP-v1 (UiPath Certified Professional Automation Developer Professional v1.0) exam? I am studying through the academy course (associate and professional), sticking to the contents that exam description points ( v1.2- december). Any advice? Anything unexpected or any question(s) that took you by surprise? Thanks!

I found the Academy courses don’t align well at all with what’s on the exam. And I found that the exam is heavy on REFramework - which I disagree with. Not everyone uses REF and the exam shouldn’t be focused on a template when there are tons of templates and of course we can make our own.

Hu @postwick,

I really appreciate your honest response.

In regards to the misalignment, appart from REFramework related questions, which kind of questions did you find that were not alligned with academy content?

Thanks!

It’s difficult to answer that as I don’t really remember many of the questions. I suggest doing the practice exam and you’ll see the kind of things they’re asking.

Hence the exam is similar to the practice exam I assume?

It felt similar, yes.

This may help you prepare.

Thanks a lot!!

I am already using the document you’ve pointed from day 1 (and checking it regularly in case they add something else…). Just wanted to hear some advice or some “unknown” things that I should take into account for the exam

One of the other things I disagree with on the developer professional (advanced) exam is all the operations related questions. The very first one on the practice exam:

In **UiPath Orchestrator Monitoring** , which feature allows you to centrally analyze the performance and efficiency of your automation processes across multiple components, such as **Robots, Machines, Queues, and Jobs** ?

Why is this on a developer exam?

The academy course covers REFramework in good detail which is a key component of the exam. But for advanced topics (Advanced UI Automation, RDP Automation, Citrix, Integration Service etc) you need to read the documentation.

Hi @Charles_Wuds ! Congratulations for you high percentage! One question, You talked about practice in “SkillCertExams”. ¿Where can i find that Exams to prepare like you? Currently, I study only in academy. Thanks!

There are many things in the syllabus that will take you by surprise, such as Test Automation, Remote Debugging, Remote Runtime, and integration services. It is unusual that many experienced resources have been used, relying solely on document reading, which is unexpected. One cannot remember everything just by reading unless we practice in real-life scenarios like production, not community. Apart from this, you may get questions on other less-used features of UiPath Cloud, like Data Service, webhooks, and storage buckets. The questions on ReFramework are expected and accepted because major automation is not completed without ReFramework and its components. However, other aspects are not that good. I think this syllabus is not as good as the previous one. This one is tough to crack; either UiPath should reduce the passing marks 60% at least from 70% or change the syllabus.

I completely disagree with this. The inclusion/requirement of learning REFramework to pass the exam is improper, IMO. It’s just one of many templates. And it’s outdated, overcomplicated, and we don’t use it at all. Doing things a better way - and not using REFramework - puts us at a disadvantage when taking the exam. And no, the training does not do a good job of covering the things that are on the exam - or the other way around, the things that are on the exam are not relevant to what’s in the training.

That is because there is a big distinction between learning and training versus certification.
These certifications serve stroking the ego if self proclaimed best practices by UiPath, and more: it’s a good cash cow.

I’m currently studying for the UiPath-ADPv1 certification and came across “CertsLeader” as a possible resource. Before diving in, I’d love to hear your thoughts — is it worth it? Did it help you pass?
