Terminal activities - (Shift + Tab) keyboard command in Direct connection

Hello all

I am using direct connection to connect to the mainframe, I see a wyse_shift_tab in send Control key activity, but it does not work? has anyone faced this issue? any suggestion pls

Hi @Ranveer_S_Thakur

Try to Use the Send Hotkey activity with Key as Tab and Modifiers as Shift, ensure the mainframe has focus, and add a small Delay before sending the key.

Ideally you need to check the keyboard mapping to get the right key to select

If you have your thin client documentation even that would have he mapping..but better to check from your mainframe ui

Thanks @prashant1603765 @yedukondaluaregala @Anil_G,

I checked the keyboard mapping, I tried to send the control key (Alt+f2) as shown in the Keyboard options, it does not work.

I am using direct connection for Blue zone Mainframe, so I won’t be able pass hotkey (we were using in old process, but as decided to move to modern design to direct connection, we are facing this issue

@Ranveer_S_Thakur

Generally transmit or enter would work for this

Can you try sending the control key as trasmit or enter

Also you can edit key mappings ..so try to edi to any other key ..but first before change try to use trasmit/enter

Cheers

Hi @Ranveer_S_Thakur

Pls try to Use Send Control Key activity with BackTab instead of Shift + Tab. Ensure the Direct Connection mode supports this input.
If it fails, try Send Keys with “{Shift+Tab}” or Type Into with “[k(shift)][k(tab)]”.

You said you’re using direct connection, but you’re showing BlueZone.

BlueZone is totally irrelevant to direct connection. It doesn’t even have to be installed. Direct connection uses UiPath’s own built-in terminal client.

What is shift+tab supposed to do? Are you trying to tab around the screen? You shouldn’t. You should use Move Cursor to put it where you want it before sending text.
