I have installed studio and right now, i don’t have it connected to orchestrator at all and i’ve been able to run locally on my machine. today i tried to run and getting the below error:
UiPath.CoreIpc.RemoteException: An error has occurred. at UiPath.Service.Orchestrator.OrchestratorClientExtensions.EnsureOrchestratorStatusCodeAsync(HttpResponseMessage response)
what can i do to resolve this? i haven’t connected studio to assistant or orchestrator yet and haven’t had this issue.
Is your license standalone-local license?
It seems the error message shows Studio fails to connect orchestrator. Can you check settings for sign-in to orchestrator?
For some reference, this software is new to this company and i an new to setting up orchestrator. I was given instructions on how to log in as an admin and signed into orchestrator and was able to do so given my first license key. Due to the security at my company, i was unable to install studio from the link provided on the orchestrator site. i put in a ticket for my company and they began the install of studio, but needed a license key for that. I was given a stand alone license key to get studio installed, so right now the two are not connected. I have contacted our UiPath and asked for a meeting with tech support to try to get everything communicating properly. If it’s possible for you to give a few bullets on how to get the 2 connected, that would be great. The youtube video I was provided seemed a little confusing and following the instructions on the video, i was given different screens on what was provided in the tutorial.
Am I able to connect to orchestrator using the license key i used for the stand alone in studio or should i use the original license key i used to set up orchestrator in the first place?
Once ypu login to orchestrator …a machine or template machine needs to be created on orchestrator…then you would get the key…that is the key you need to use here
It seems you installed Studio as Service Mode. If you can install (or modify) Studio as User Mode, we can connect with OC using Intractive Sign-in and can use same credential which login to orchestrator.
Open UiPath Assistant → Click em Sign In → After entering your login credential, browser will ask to open UiPath → Choose the desired Tenant.
if everything work fine, click in your initial of your name at right corner → Preferences → Orchestrator Settings to check if it as successful licensed
If after open UiPath Assistant the Sign In button doesn’t appear, you can switch connection type clicking in your initial of your name at right corner → Preferences → Orchestrator Settings and change Connection Type to Service URL
The account you connect need to have the license assigned in Orchestrator
Yes, give it a try to uncheck. Then Interactive Sign-in can be used. (We can sign-in to orchestrator from Studio or Assistant).
Please note that it may be necessary to assign license to the user / group in AutomationCloud in advance.
thanks, i will try this. i do not have admin rights to my machine, so i will need to get with someone in my company who can perform this for me. i get the below when trying to connect or try to change the connection type.
Thank you for sharing. The above shows you have valid local license.
Next, can you share when the following error occurs, launching studio, opening project etc? I think Studio will work without Orchestrator.
UiPath.CoreIpc.RemoteException: An error has occurred. at UiPath.Service.Orchestrator.OrchestratorClientExtensions.EnsureOrchestratorStatusCodeAsync(HttpResponseMessage response)
Studio is working now. I’m interested now in connecting studio to orchestrator so i’m able to publish my automations and use assistant. Will there be a conflict in connecting my studio to orchestrator if i used a license key to log into orchestrator for the first time and a different stand alone key to log into studio?
We can separately think about license and connecting with Orchestrator, for now.
To connect with Orchestraor, we can use Interactive Sign-in or Machine-key/ClientID.
However, as your installation seems Service mode,Interactive Sign cannot be used. It’s necessary to use Machine-Key/Client ID.
Machine-Key/Client Id can be created at setting of Machine Template (Tenant - Machines)
Can you try to set them in UiPath Assistant?
Please note that Admin right may be necessary to update settings of Orchestrator in Assistant because of service mode installation.
The second one on the list appeared to be created when i set up orchestrator for the first time, but as you see, i don’t see an option to copy a client id or client secret. i created the third using directions i found on youtube, and it appears to show that i can copy a machine key here. Should i use that one instead of the one labeled “Chris.Dease”? When i click on “edit machine” to find a key for that machine, one doesn’t pop up, but one does pop up for "shared_machine.
