Send Windows Hotkey

Hello I m trying to send Ctrl+ N using an application scope( to automate in the background)
But it gives this error any idea please ?

Use a type into activity with value as N and select key modifier as ctrl

Or [k(ctrl)]n or [d(ctrl)]n[u(ctrl)]

Or a keyboard shortcut activity

not working in the background , i mean the application scope is in the background
it does the clicks but there is no output
