I am having trouble retrieving selectors through remote runtime. My Studio version is 23.10, the machine has 24.10.1 installed, the project is Windows - Legacy and is using version 20.10.6 of UIAutomation.Activities. I have tried using runtime versions 22.4.7, 19.10.5, 23.10, and 20.10.6, and none of them work. I don’t understand what’s going on; I constantly face issues working this way on different machines. Additionally, Remote Debugging doesn’t work either, despite a proper connection. I have installed all necessary components through UiPath as well as via Command Line, but nothing works.
Moreover, can someone logically explain how I am supposed to work on projects when each client has different Studio versions, package versions, and runtimes installed?
Regarding versions - just keep up-to-date or enforce specific versions as best you can, maybe off-load some of the responsibilities to your clients?
You can set their orchestrators to auto-update or force their machines on to a specific studio version: Orchestrator - Auto Updating Client Components (uipath.com)
Of course, everything is correct. I always check the documentation and configure the settings on the machines based on it, and if everything is as it should be, I post on the forum. Just a moment ago, I connected from another computer and was able to retrieve the selectors. Then I returned to my own computer and suddenly I could retrieve them as well. I disconnected and reconnected from my computer, and it stopped working again. This is absurd.
Since the project is from 2020 and based on those activities. Nevertheless, I managed to solve it by reinstalling and configuring it the same way as before, and it works… Additionally, I’m wondering if, when I need several Remote Runtime versions on the same machine, is it enough to have any version active, but have multiple versions in the documentation folder? Or, if I’m working on different versions of projects on the same machine, do I have to constantly remove and install the appropriate versions of Remote Runtime?
